Dr. Ceryl Teleri Davies is a Senior Research Fellow at Bangor University’s School of Health Sciences, specializing in social work, law, and social policy. She holds qualifications including a PhD in Social Policy, MA in Law (Healthcare Ethics & Law), and Dipsw/MA in Social Work. Her career spans frontline social work, team management, and research roles, alongside teaching at institutions like the University of Lincoln and Chester University’s Law School.
Her research focuses on social norms impacting young people’s relationships, domestic abuse, dementia care, and learning disabilities. Notable projects include: a mindfulness intervention for adults with learning disabilities (funded by North Wales Together), evaluations of dementia support roles, and a £225k HCRW-funded study on care leavers. She co-leads the North Wales Gender-Based Violence Network and serves on the Welsh Government Disability Task Force.
Recent awards include the 2025 HCRW Emerging Leader Award and a 2024 HCRW/NIHR Advanced Fellowship. Her work emphasizes co-production, rights-based approaches, and interdisciplinary collaboration across social care, health, and policy sectors.
