Gianpasquale Preite is an Associate Professor at the University of Salento, Department of Human and Social Sciences. He serves as the Scientific Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Center on Emergency Policies and Social Vulnerability (CREV). His research focuses on political philosophy, biopolitics, and the interplay between politics, economics, and law, particularly regarding risk management and social vulnerability.

Professional Background: PhD in Bioethical-Legal Sciences, former research fellow at institutions including the Max-Planck-Institut für europäische Rechtsgeschichte (Frankfurt) and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Member of the Italian Society of Political Philosophy (SIFP) and Italian Society of Critical Theory (SITC).
Research Leadership: Leads the 'Biopolitics, Emergencies, Vulnerability' working group (Unisalento and ASL Lecce), focusing on biopolitical dimensions of healthcare risk. Active in interdisciplinary emergency policy research.
