Gerardo Acerenza is an Associate Professor of French Language and Translation at the University of Trento's Department of Literature and Philosophy, Italy. He joined the university in 2008 as an adjunct professor and became Associate Professor in 2019. Previously, he held academic positions at the University of Waterloo and Université de Montréal.

- DITALS certification in Teaching Italian to Foreigners (1998)
Research Focus: His work centers on Francophone literatures (particularly Québec and French Canada), translation theory (specializing in Québec novels and technical languages), and sociolinguistic dynamics. He investigates cultural identity, linguistic contact, and the translation of specialized terminology in sports.
