Frédéric Rondeau is an Associate Professor of French and Director of the Canadian-American Center at the University of Maine. His work focuses on 20th-century Quebec literature and culture, counter-cultural movements, and the intersection of ecology and literature. He holds a PhD from McGill University and has conducted postdoctoral research at Université Laval. His research explores transnational counter-cultural perspectives, post-1968 intellectual trends, and Francophone literature across North America.

Recent articles analyze Quebecois counter-cultural narratives, ecological discourse in literature, and avant-garde techniques. His current projects explore Quebec's return-to-nature movements and the art of poet Roland Giguère.
As a scholar, Rondeau bridges literary analysis with cultural and political history, emphasizing transnational connections and environmental thought in Quebecois intellectual traditions.
