Georgia Panagiotaki is an Associate Professor in Psychology at the Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia (UEA). She serves as the Well-being Lead for the MBBS course, leading the psychology and well-being curriculum design. Her roles include overseeing Interprofessional Schwartz Rounds across health professions programs and co-leading a NICHE-funded study evaluating Schwartz Rounds' effectiveness in higher education. She holds administrative roles as Theme Lead for the Psychology curriculum and Schwartz Rounds Program Lead at UEA.
Education includes a DPhil in Developmental Psychology (University of Sussex, 2003), MSc in Health Psychology (City University London, 1995), and BSc in Psychology (University of Crete, 1993). Research focuses on children's biological and scientific concept development, moral reasoning, and student well-being. Key areas include how culture influences children's understanding of death, body systems, and astronomical concepts, alongside evaluating educational interventions.
Her recent publications address healthcare student well-being frameworks, children's astronomical cognition, moral judgment factors, cross-cultural child abuse patterns, and smoking cessation strategies. Collaborations involve institutions like UEA's School of Psychology and international teams. External roles included serving as an external examiner at the University of East London (2015–2019).
Administratively, she coordinates multidisciplinary well-being initiatives and curriculum development, contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and good health. Her work bridges developmental psychology theory with practical applications in medical education and child welfare.
