Her research lies at the intersection of theatre, gerontology, and social justice, focusing on how applied theatre with older adults can combat ageism and build shame resilience through her framework of Pro-Ageing Praxis. Her work is deeply interdisciplinary, drawing from the arts, humanities, psychology, and sociology.
Georgia's recent publications explore themes such as capitalist ageism, LGBTQ+ housing in later life, and the impact of the pandemic on care home theatre practices. Her work consistently emphasizes participatory, ethical, and empowering artistic engagement with older communities.
She is a Fellow of the United Nations-affiliated Centre for Excellence on Ageing and serves as a trustee of London Bubble Theatre Company. She is also the Focus Group Representative for the Association for Theatre in Higher Education’s Wellness, Community and Ageing focus group.
Georgia supervises postgraduate research and is actively involved in community partnerships with organizations such as Chichester Festival Theatre and Tonic Housing. Her professional practice spans major UK theatres including the Royal Opera House, Almeida Theatre, and Hampstead Theatre.
She leads innovative projects such as The Chatter Project and collaborates on interdisciplinary research addressing the wellbeing of older adults through creative expression.
