Dr. Richard Green is a Surrey Future Fellow at the University of Surrey's School of Health Sciences, affiliated with the Surrey Institute for People-Centred Artificial Intelligence (PAI). He holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc (Hons). His current fellowship focuses on developing research programs using 'carebots' (chatbots and AI technologies) to enhance health and wellbeing for older adults. Previously, he served as a Research Fellow managing The PALLUP Study, which aimed to improve palliative care for frail elders. His research spans ageing, chronic illness, digital health technologies, and healthcare equity.
Key research interests include multimorbidity, self-management of illness, unpaid caregiving, dementia, and the ethical implications of digital technologies in healthcare. He actively collaborates across disciplines to address the needs of vulnerable populations, such as LGBTQ+ older adults through partnerships like the Tonic Housing initiative.
Publications highlight his work on frailty, palliative care inequity, and prostate cancer survivorship. His Surrey Future Fellowship (2023) underscores recognition of his contributions to innovative health research. He mentors doctoral students interested in ageing and digital health, and his work aligns with Sustainable Development Goals related to health equity and technological innovation.
