Dr. Freda Elizabeth Mold is a Senior Lecturer in Integrated Care at the University of Surrey’s School of Health Sciences. She holds a BSc and PhD from the University of Surrey (2001) and has extensive experience in post-doctoral research at King’s College London (Public Health Sciences and Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery). Her career includes roles at NHS Evidence and a Research Fellowship in Health Care Management and Policy at Surrey. Her research focuses on access to healthcare services, particularly for vulnerable groups, including frail older adults, individuals with learning disabilities, and those affected by obesity stigma. She also explores virtual consultations and online medical record access in primary care.
Key projects include the TINA study optimizing chatbot language for cervical screening access and evaluating insulin delegation practices in community nursing. She advises MSc and PhD students and leads the MSc Dissertation Module. Her work spans over 30 peer-reviewed publications, emphasizing healthcare technology, gerontology, and health equity. She actively contributes to shaping evidence-based practices in primary care and long-term care settings.
