George Deitz

George Deitz is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Marketing, Industrial Distribution, and Economics at the Collat School of Business, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Previously, he served as a Professor at the University of Memphis from 2005 to 2023. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Alabama (2006). His research focuses on consumer behavior, sales ecosystems, digital marketing, and ethical marketing practices, with a particular emphasis on the intersection of technology, consumer psychology, and organizational performance.

Deitz’s scholarly work spans peer-reviewed articles in journals like European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Research, and International Journal of Advertising. His research themes include sales force management, cause-related marketing, consumer privacy, and the impact of haptic cues on brand perception. Notable contributions explore the effectiveness of Net Promoter Score (NPS), the role of workplace mentors in ethical development, and the effects of supply chain technology on market performance.
