Gavin Giovannoni is the Chair of Neurology at the Blizard Institute, part of the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. His work bridges clinical neurology and neuroimmunology, focusing on multiple sclerosis (MS) and related neuroinflammatory disorders.
Research interests include the role of Epstein-Barr virus in MS causation, MS-related neurodegeneration, biomarker discovery, clinical outcome measures, and immune tolerance strategies. He is co-director of the Preventive Neurology Unit at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health, driving translational research and clinical trials.
