Supratik Basu is a Professor of Haematology at the University of Wolverhampton, Faculty of Science and Engineering, and a Consultant Haematologist at Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust since 2003. He serves as the Research Lead for Haemato-Oncology Directorate and the Hon Senior Lecturer at the Department of Haematology, Division of Cancer Studies, Cancer Research UK. His roles include Clinical Research Lead for Haematology and Oncology (CRN, NIHR West Midlands), Chief Investigator for international MAIA Trial, and Principal Investigator for over 40 CRN/industry-funded Phase II/III trials.

His research spans malignant haematology with a focus on multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and drug development. Key projects include studying bone marrow metabolism in myeloma pathogenesis, targeting PADI2 enzyme for chemotherapy resistance, and metabolic interplay between stromal and myeloma cells. Collaborations involve the University of Birmingham, Manchester, Oxford, Southampton, and industry partners like Celgene and Binding Site.
Notable grants include CRUK (2008, 2017), NCRI (2015), and John Goldman Fellowship (2018). His clinical trials and publications address therapeutic optimization, early diagnosis algorithms (DOMINUS Project), and immune metabolism in myeloma.
