Garima Dalal

Garima Dalal is a NIHR Doctoral Research Fellow at the Manchester Centre for Health Economics, which is part of the Division of Population Health, Health Services Research & Primary Care at The University of Manchester. She joined MCHE as a Research Associate in 2018 and has established herself as a specialist in health economic evaluation methods.

Her educational background includes a MSc in Health Economics and Decision Modelling from The University of Sheffield and a BSc in Economics from Lancaster University. Prior to joining MCHE, she conducted her MSc dissertation at a UK pharmaceutical company, performing a cost-effectiveness analysis of non-small cell lung cancer screening approaches.

Dr. Dalal's research focuses on advanced health economic methodologies including cost-effectiveness modelling, statistical analysis in health economics, and preference elicitation techniques. Her work prominently features discrete choice experiments, eye tracking applications, decision-analytic modelling, trial-based economic evaluation, expert elicitation, and micro-costing approaches across various healthcare contexts.

Her publication portfolio demonstrates strong expertise in applying economic evaluation methods to diverse clinical areas including cancer screening, cardiac rehabilitation, orthopedic surgery, and prenatal testing. Her research consistently addresses methodological challenges in healthcare decision-making while maintaining practical relevance for health policy.
