Gail B. Levinsky is Professor of Music at Susquehanna University where she teaches applied studies in saxophone, chamber music, and woodwind methods. She also serves as Program Director of the GO Arts of Italy Global Programs Music, demonstrating her commitment to international musical education.
Her research and performance interests focus on saxophone repertoire, particularly works by women and non-binary composers. Professor Levinsky has commissioned numerous compositions from contemporary creators including Matthew Quayle, Andrea Clearfield, and Douglas McConnell. She is dedicated to expanding the saxophone repertoire and promoting diversity in classical music performance.
Professor Levinsky's recent recording Quiet Hearts: Music for Saxophone (2024) won silver medals from Global Music Awards in contemporary classical music and album art/graphics categories. This work continues her exploration of diverse musical voices, following previous recordings Tipping Point (2009) and Saxophone & Other Voices.

Professor Levinsky actively contributes to music education through her presentations at national conferences including MENC Eastern Region, PMEA, MDMEA, NJMEA, DMEA, and the Midwest Band & Orchestra Clinic. She has published an updated edition of Rosemary Lang's 'Beginning Altissimo Method' and contributed saxophone chapters to 'Teaching Woodwinds: A Guide for Students and Teachers.'
During summer months, she serves as Artistic Director for the Snow Pond Music Festival and faculty at New England Music Camp in Sidney, Maine, extending her educational impact beyond the academic year.
