Stephanie Nakasian

Stephanie Nakasian is an Instructor in Non-Classical Voice at the University of Virginia's Department of Music, recognized as a leading global jazz vocalist. She holds a BA and MBA from Northwestern University. Her expertise spans vocal pedagogy, jazz improvisation, and music education. She is the author of You Already Know How to Sing and It's Not on the Page!, widely used in workshops and curricula. Nakasian performs internationally, headlining venues like the Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center, and collaborates with renowned artists such as Harry Allen and Pat Metheny. Her teaching focuses on safe vocal technique across genres, including theater, pop, and gospel.
