معرفی
Dr. Gabriel Duette is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Sydney, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health and the Westmead Institute for Medical Research. His research primarily focuses on HIV persistence, immune evasion, and the interplay between virology and immunology, with additional work on SARS-CoV-2 T-cell epitopes and structural bioinformatics.
- Current Research: Investigating HIV latency mechanisms, TB/HIV coinfection dynamics, and CD8+ T-cell functionality in virological control.
- Grants: Recipient of NIH and Australian Department of Health grants for HIV immunotherapy and reservoir targeting.
- Collaborations: Works with Sydney Institute for Infectious Diseases and international research teams.
Dr. Duette employs advanced techniques such as viral competition assays, extracellular vesicle analysis, and multiparametric mitochondrial dynamics studies to explore viral pathogenesis and immune responses.
- Scientific Contributions: Key work on Nef protein roles in HIV persistence, galectin-1 effects on latency, and immunosuppressive microenvironments in coinfections.
- Publications: Extensive peer-reviewed output spanning HIV-1, SARS-CoV-2, tuberculosis, and immunometabolic interactions.
