Fred Davis is the Paul Whitfield Horn Professor and Bobby G. Stevenson Chair in Information Technology at Texas Tech University’s Rawls College of Business. He holds a PhD in Management from MIT and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University. His research focuses on user acceptance of information technology, neuroIS, and computer-aided decision support systems. Davis is renowned for introducing the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and has contributed extensively to understanding technology adoption, cognitive neuroscience in IS, and decision-making processes.
His scientific contributions include over 100 publications in top journals like MIS Quarterly and Management Science. Awards include the Bobby G. Stevenson Chair, recognizing his scholarly impact. Davis has held faculty positions at the Universities of Michigan, Minnesota, Maryland, and Arkansas before joining Texas Tech. His current research explores technology addiction, neuroIS applications, and the intersection of cognitive science with information systems.
