Radha Appan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Quantitative Sciences at the Rawls College of Business, Texas Tech University. She holds a PhD in Management Information Systems from Texas Tech University. Her research focuses on strategy and information systems, systems analysis, online auction markets, and human decision-making processes in e-commerce contexts. Dr. Appan has held academic positions at Texas Tech University (2019–present) and Cleveland State University (2005–2019).
Education includes a PhD and MS in Business Administration (MIS) from Texas Tech University, an MBA in Finance from India’s Institute for Technology and Management, and a Bachelor of Bank Management from Ethiraj College for Women. Her work bridges strategic decision-making, cognitive science, and information systems, with notable contributions to requirements elicitation and security information sharing.
Research highlights include studies on group decision-making dynamics, health information exchange frameworks, and IT security collaboration among firms. She has published in top journals like MIS Quarterly and the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, and received a Best Paper Award at the 2005 Americas Conference on Information Systems.
