معرفی
Fraser William Goldsworth is a physical oceanographer at the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg, Germany, specializing in the Department of Climate Variability under the Climate Energetics group. His work focuses on ocean-climate interactions, particularly the role of mesoscale eddies and boundary currents in shaping climate systems.
- Current postdoctoral research on the EERIE project
- Investigates AMOC stability and anthropogenic heat/carbon dynamics
- Co-leads ocean-atmosphere/cryosphere mesoscale interaction work package
Research interests include symmetric instability mechanisms in ocean currents, freshwater pathways around Greenland, and climate modeling improvements in eddy-resolving systems. His publications reveal strong expertise in Tropical Atlantic dynamics, sub-polar North Atlantic processes, and computational climate science.
Fraser contributes to open science initiatives and EDI (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) topics while maintaining technical proficiencies in climate modeling tools. He actively participates in international conferences and seminars, including EGU, US CLIVAR AMOC meetings, and Gordon research conferences.
