معرفی
Gutjahr serves as a substitute professor in the Department of Environmental Meteorology within the Faculty of Earth Sciences. His teaching responsibilities include Introduction to Land-Surface-Atmosphere Interactions, Colloquium for the Master's Thesis in Earth Sciences, Environmental Science Project Study, and Numerical Modelling in Meteorology: Dynamics, conducted in the Environmental Meteorology facility (Room F 76).
His research centers on polar climate dynamics with emphasis on:
- Atmosphere-ice-ocean interactions in Arctic and Antarctic systems
- Polar lows and mesoscale wind phenomena
- Sea ice thermodynamics (leads, polynyas, and dynamics)
- Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) and deep-water formation
Through numerical modeling approaches, his work examines feedback mechanisms between cryospheric processes and global climate systems, particularly focusing on high-latitude meteorological extremes and ocean circulation impacts. This research provides critical insights for climate change projections in vulnerable polar regions.
He actively supervises Master's students in Earth Sciences, guiding thesis research on environmental meteorology topics through structured colloquia and project studies.
