François MOULLE is an Associate Professor of Geography at the University of Artois, affiliated with the Faculty of History, Geography, and Heritage and the Department of Geography. He holds an HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) and is authorized to supervise research. His research focuses on cross-border cooperation, political geography, globalization, territorial security, health, and religion in public spaces. He has taught various courses, including geopolitics and urban studies, and has held administrative roles such as Master program co-director and head of the Geography and Urban Planning department.
Education: PhD in Geography (University of Cergy-Pontoise, 1999), Aggregation of Geography (1992), and HDR (University of Artois, 2023).
Research interests emphasize cross-border dynamics, transnational governance, pandemic spatial impacts, and post-secular spatial practices. His publications span over two decades, addressing topics like EU territorial integration, symbolic borders, and urban security. Notable projects include the Interreg program and BQR-funded studies on post-secular spatial markers and heritage preservation.
He has organized international conferences, advised on exhibitions (e.g., France Culture’s “Frontières”), and contributed to public debates on border policies and geopolitical issues. His work bridges academic research with practical applications, including advising on transfrontier healthcare networks and urban resilience strategies.
