Frans Bevers is a Visiting Tutor at the Royal Academy of Arts (The Hague), specifically within the INSIDE Master Department for Interior Architecture. He has held academic roles since 1979, including Head of the Architectural Design Department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy (1979–2007) and lecturing positions at institutions like Parsons School of Design (NYC), Shanghai Normal University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago. Currently, he also teaches at the Design Academy Eindhoven's Master of Information Design program.
His professional background includes co-directing OPERA Amsterdam (1981–2012), a renowned design studio specializing in museum interiors, exhibition design, and healthcare sector projects. Notable clients include the Victoria & Albert Museum, Rijksmuseum, and National Museum of Ethnology. His work has garnered awards such as the Dutch Design Award (2004) and the Lensvelt-De Architect Interior Prize (2001).
Research interests focus on spatial design, exhibition curation, and the intersection of architecture with cultural institutions. His academic contributions emphasize practical application through design education and collaborative projects with global institutions.
