Frank den Hond

Frank den Hond is an Associate Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Organization Sciences department, the Network Institute, and the Organization & Processes of Organizing in Society (OPOS). His research focuses on corporate social responsibility (CSR), activism, organizational theory, and technology ethics. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Society for Business Ethics / BEQ since 2021 and contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through his work on sustainability and ethical business practices.

His research interests include the intersection of technology and ethics, particularly AI's societal impact, cross-sector collaborations for responsibility, and the dynamics of activism and NGOs. Recent work explores AI's role in decision-making, human rights advocacy, and workplace freedom in the digital age. He has published over 107 articles and chapters, emphasizing critical perspectives on CSR, corporate political activity, and organizational innovation.

den Hond's academic activities include organizing conferences like the Organization Studies Summer Workshop and the HEGAM PhD Seminar. He has supervised one PhD thesis and actively engages in editorial work to advance business ethics discourse. His contributions bridge theory and practice, addressing contemporary challenges in business, technology, and society.
