Francesco Minetti is a University Researcher in the Department of Humanities at the University of Salento, specializing in English Literature (L-LIN/10). He teaches courses across multiple degree programs including Disciplines of Arts, Music and Entertainment (DAMS) and Letters.
His research and teaching focus on English Renaissance drama, particularly Shakespearean comedies like Much Ado About Nothing and As You Like It, examining their connections to chivalric literature and women's studies perspectives. He also specializes in 18th-19th century English novels by Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibility) and Walter Scott's Ivanhoe.
Minetti's work demonstrates particular interest in gender studies, analyzing characters like Beatrice and Hero in Shakespeare's works and exploring the problematic aspects of marriage conventions in Renaissance drama. His courses incorporate performance studies, examining directorial practices and acting styles of the late 16th century English theater.
He maintains an active teaching schedule through the 2025/2026 academic year, with courses focusing on Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing for DAMS students. His office is located in the Buon Pastore Building in Lecce.
