Melissa Johnson is an Associate Professor and current Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education and Dean at Biola University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences. She has held leadership roles in the Core Curriculum Committee and Academic Policy Advisory Group.

Her research focuses on the intersection of literature and theology in early modern English works, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to enhance Christian liberal arts education. She has mentored students and faculty in Torrey Honors College over a 16-year tenure.
Her publication on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing reflects her engagement with foundational texts in Western civilization. Affiliated with the Modern Language Association, Renaissance Society of America, and Conference on Christianity and Literature, she contributes to scholarly dialogues blending literary analysis and theological themes.
