Finja Walsdorff is a researcher in media studies, currently serving as a Research Associate at the Institute for Media and Cultural Studies at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. She has held multiple roles since 2021, including Research Assistant at the University of Siegen's Chair of Media and Communication/Gender Media Studies, and contributed to projects like Digital Model Region Health Tri-border Region. Her work bridges gaming culture, gender representation, and mental health.

Her research focuses on gender dynamics in digital games, fan cultures, and media socialization, with a recent emphasis on games' impact on well-being. She actively participates in academic governance, representing Media Studies at Siegen and leading the Games Working Group of the German Media Studies Association since 2020.
Finja has been recognized for her contributions to gender studies and received mentoring support through FraMeS at the University of Siegen. She has also served on panels for the GamesCoop research community and the Equal eSports Council.
