Dr. Nils Böcking is a Researcher at the University of Siegen's Faculty III Business Informatics and New Media, specifically at the Chair of Business Informatics and New Media. He holds an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Siegen (2017–2023), and received a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship during his master's. He is also an International Welding Engineer (2021) with industry experience in welding technology and project supervision.
As a research assistant since June 2023, his current focus is the 'ATLAS' project, supporting medium-sized automotive suppliers through digital transformation. His expertise spans welding technology optimization, arc technologies, and project leadership in manufacturing contexts. He contributes to bridging industrial practices with academic research in digital innovation and automotive sector challenges.
His research interests include digital transformation strategies, automotive industry modernization, and the application of new media in business processes. He is affiliated with the European Digital Innovation Hub South Westphalia (EDIH) and other regional tech initiatives.
