Cinzia Ferrini is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Trieste, specializing in Hegel, Kant, and the history of modern philosophy. Her academic career includes roles as an Aggregate Professor since 2006, confirmed researcher (2003), and researcher in the History of Philosophy (2000). She earned a MA in Philosophy from the University of Rome 'La Sapienza' (1981-82) and a PhD in Philosophy (1984-88), focusing on Hegel's Logic and System.
Her research spans Hegelian modal theory, Kant's pre-critical works, philosophy of biology, and the interplay between science and philosophy. She has held prestigious fellowships, including multiple Alexander von Humboldt grants for projects on Hegel and Kant. Ferrini is an elected member of the Academia Europaea (2005) and has served on its Council and Board. She has organized major conferences, including the bicentennial Kant conference in Naples and sessions on interdisciplinary risks in science and humanities.
Her teaching spans undergraduate to doctoral levels, covering topics like Hegel's Phenomenology, Kant's transcendental deduction, and the philosophy of nature. She contributes to editorial boards such as Jahrbuch für Hegelforschung and maintains active international collaborations through her extensive grant-funded research.
