Ferran Brosa Planella

Ferran Brosa Planella is Assistant Professor at Warwick's Mathematics Institute and leads the Mathematical Modelling for Sustainability Group. His research develops industrial mathematics applications for sustainable technologies, particularly battery systems and thermal energy storage.

Research combines analytical techniques and numerical methods to model physical processes including electrochemical systems and heat transfer. Current projects focus on lithium-ion battery degradation, phase-change materials, and renewable energy storage solutions. The work emphasizes open science through development of PyBaMM open-source software.
