Keith M. Alcock is an Associate Tutor at the University of East Anglia (UEA), affiliated with the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Physics. He holds a PhD in Thermal Monitoring and Management of Lithium-Ion Batteries from Edinburgh Napier University (2023), an MSc in Renewable Energy (2016), and a BEng in Energy & Environmental Engineering (2015), all from Edinburgh Napier University. His research focuses on sustainable energy systems, particularly thermal management of batteries, sensor integration for energy storage devices, and eco-friendly materials for electrochemical applications. He is a member of UEA’s Sustainable Energy Research Group.
Key research areas include lithium-ion battery thermal monitoring, supercapacitor development using biopolymers, and innovative cooling solutions for energy storage systems. His work emphasizes practical applications of fiber optic sensors and biomass-derived materials in enhancing battery safety and efficiency. Alcock has collaborated on projects involving manganese dioxide/carbon composites, water hyacinth cellulose nanofibers, and phase change materials for thermal management.
His publications span topics like individual cell-level temperature monitoring, accessible sensor embedding methods, and aluminum-ion battery separator characterization. He maintains an external affiliation with Edinburgh Napier University as Associate Staff since 2023. No scientific awards are listed, though his work has garnered citations across peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
