معرفی
Sabine Paarmann is a Research Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London, part of the Electrochemical Science and Engineering group. Her research focuses on inhomogeneities in lithium-ion batteries, particularly thermal gradients and heat generation linked to performance and degradation. She joined Imperial in July 2023.
Her work integrates experimental and analytical methods to address critical challenges in battery technology, including aging mechanisms, thermal management, and material stability. Key areas of exploration include lithium plating reversibility at subzero temperatures, accelerated aging characterization, and holistic battery system design.
Paarmann’s publications (2020–2025) emphasize empirical correlations between thermal conditions and battery lifespan, with notable contributions to calendar aging studies, temperature-dependent entropy coefficients, and manufacturing process optimization. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges material science, electrochemistry, and engineering design.
Her research is supported by collaborations within the Electrochemical Science and Engineering group, focusing on advancing battery technologies for sustainable energy storage solutions.
