Satyam Panchal

Dr. Satyam Panchal is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Department at the University of Waterloo. He holds a Ph.D. and Postdoc in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in lithium-ion batteries for EV/HEV systems. His research focuses on battery thermal management, electrochemical modeling, machine learning applications, and hydrogen fuel cell performance. He collaborates with Professors Roydon Fraser (Mechanical Engineering) and Michael Fowler (Chemical Engineering) on advanced energy storage systems. Dr. Panchal has over 15 years of experience, 80+ publications, and multiple awards including the David Johnston Graduate Award and Ontario Graduate Scholarships. His work addresses battery safety, thermal runaway mitigation, and energy efficiency in transportation systems.

Publications: Recent work includes advanced thermal management strategies using phase change materials, cloud-based battery management systems, and battery aging prediction. His articles emphasize practical solutions for high-performance and safe energy storage systems.
