Dr. Fenqjen Luo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education at Montana State University (MSU), affiliated with the College of Education, Health & Human Development. Her work focuses on mathematics education, particularly cross-cultural studies in teaching practices and teacher development. She holds a Ph.D. (2000) and M.A. (1996) in Mathematics Education from the University of Texas-Austin, and a B.E. (1992) in Mathematics and Science Education from National Taipei University of Education.
Her research explores comparative educational approaches, including studies on problem-posing strategies in elementary mathematics and pre-service teacher knowledge. Notable awards include a 2024 sabbatical and a 2022 Faculty Excellence Grant.
