Dr. Elizabeth Burroughs is a Professor and Department Head in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Montana State University (MSU), within the College of Letters & Science. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of New Mexico (2003). Her research focuses on mathematical modeling in education, fostering empathy in learners, and connecting undergraduate mathematics to school-level teaching practices. She has held leadership roles in national organizations like the Mathematical Association of America and the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators.
