Lee Fothergill is a Professor of Mathematics and Academic Coordinator of the Knights Program at Mount Saint Mary College (MSMC), where he has served since 2002. His research focuses on mathematics education, teacher preparation, and bridging undergraduate and K-12 curricula. He earned a Doctor of Mathematics Education from Columbia University, alongside a Master of Science and Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Plattsburgh.
Professor Fothergill has led initiatives like the TLQP project, enhancing middle school teachers' mathematical competencies in New York. He champions service learning, co-founding the Bishop Dunn Math Club and organizing family math nights. As advisor to the Kappa Mu Epsilon honor society, he promotes mathematics engagement among undergraduates.
His publications emphasize calculus pedagogy for future teachers and innovative math trails in undergraduate education. He actively contributes to professional associations like MAA and NCTM, reinforcing his commitment to advancing mathematics education.
