Dr. Farid Bardid is a Lecturer in Education Health and Wellbeing at the University of Strathclyde's Strathclyde Institute of Education. He holds a doctorate in Health Sciences from Ghent University. His research focuses on physical activity promotion among children and youth, emphasizing capabilities, opportunities, and motivation. He co-leads national initiatives like Active Healthy Kids Scotland and FitBack Scotland, and collaborates internationally through networks like HEPA Europe. Awards include the HEA Fellowship (2018) and Honorary Research Fellowship (2016). His work spans policy evaluation, coach education, and movement skill development across 9 European countries.
