Martyn Standage is a Professor of Psychology, Health, and Applied Science at the University of Bath's Department for Health. He directs the Centre for Motivation and Behaviour Change and serves as the REF Lead for Unit of Assessment 24. With a PhD from the University of Birmingham (2003), his research focuses on motivational determinants of health behaviors, particularly in exercise, sport, education, and organizational settings. He has authored over 200 publications, securing £8.5M in grants from bodies like the MRC and ESRC. Standage contributes to national/international initiatives, including the UK Physical Activity Guidelines and Active Healthy Kids England's national report card. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing health and well-being.

Research Interests: Self-determination theory applications, physical activity interventions, sedentary behavior, and interdisciplinary health research. Recent projects include global surveillance of childhood movement behaviors and behavioral interventions for chronic disease management.
