Eva Lundsager is a Part-Time Lecturer at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts University, located in Boston, MA. She teaches in the Drawing and Painting programs. Her affiliation includes the Degree Program Faculty at SMFA.
Education: MFA from Hunter College in New York, following undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland.
Research interests focus on abstract painting processes involving layered techniques such as pours, drips, glazes, and varied brushstrokes, alongside explorations of color dynamics and representational specificity through experimental methods. Her work reflects influences from natural environments and urban settings, informed by her residencies in Maryland, New York, Saint Louis, and currently Framingham, MA.
Exhibitions include 'Eva Lundsager: Ovation' at Praise Shadows Gallery (2023), the 2019 deCordova Museum Biennial, and others. Her art is featured in collections like the Dallas Art Museum and the Saint Louis Art Museum.
Awarded the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship in Painting, recognizing her contributions to the field. Her recent works, such as the 'Time and Distance' series (2024), exemplify her evolving abstract style.
