Erin N. Haynes is the Kurt W. Deuschle Professor of Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health at the University of Kentucky's College of Public Health. She directs the NIEHS-funded UK Center for Appalachian Research in Environmental Sciences (UK-CARES). Her work focuses on exposure science, environmental epidemiology, and community-driven health research.
Education:
- Doctorate in Public Health (Environmental Health Science), University of Michigan (2002)
- Master of Science in Toxicology, University of Cincinnati (1997)
Research Interests: Prioritizes community environmental health needs, with expertise in PFAS, manganese refining, disaster response, and biomarker development. Her team uses multidisciplinary approaches to address neurodevelopmental impacts, chemical exposure reporting, and community partnerships.

Grants/Advising: Leads NIH-funded studies on East Palestine derailment health impacts and Appalachian environmental health. Serves on national committees including the National Toxicology Program and NIEHS Disaster Response Research Network.
