W. Jay Christian is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology & Environmental Health at the University of Kentucky's College of Public Health. He specializes in spatial analysis, environmental exposure assessment, and tobacco regulatory science. His research focuses on Appalachian health disparities, lung cancer epidemiology, and the impacts of environmental pollutants like manganese and PFAS. Christian has contributed to over 60 peer-reviewed articles and holds grants from NIH, NIDA, and state agencies. He teaches courses in spatial epidemiology, disease mapping, and data visualization.
