Dr. Erin E. Plisco is an Associate Professor and Associate Director of Choral Studies in the Department of Music at Missouri State University, Springfield campus. She conducts multiple choirs, teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in choral conducting and literature, and leads a choral program of over 300 singers.

Plisco holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from the University of Arizona, a Master of Music in Choral Studies from Trinity College, University of Cambridge (UK), and a Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Education and Vocal Performance from Christopher Newport University. She studied under renowned conductors including Bruce Chamberlain, Elizabeth Futral, and Stephen Layton.
Her research and professional interests center on choral conducting, vocal pedagogy, and music education. She is deeply involved in choral performance and pedagogy, frequently serving as guest clinician and presenter nationally and internationally. Her work emphasizes training conductors and developing choral ensembles across educational levels.
Dr. Plisco is active in professional organizations, currently serving as the SSAA Repertoire & Resource Chair for both the Southwestern Division and Missouri Chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA). She has presented at major conferences including the ACDA National Conference and the Oxford Conducting Institute.

She also served as assistant director for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra Chorus and True Concord Voices & Orchestra. Plisco continues to perform professionally as a soprano with ensembles across the United States.
She has spent three summers as a choral fellow at the Yale School of Music-Norfolk Chamber Music Festival under Simon Carrington and has hosted Grammy-winning composer Eric Whitacre for a residency. Her upcoming engagements include national and international conference presentations, affirming her leadership in choral music education and performance.
