Dr. Eric Tan is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the School of Health Sciences, Swinburne University of Technology, and a Senior Research Fellow at the Memory, Ageing and Cognition Centre, National University of Singapore. His research focuses on neuropsychiatric symptoms in Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive decline in dementia, and speech disturbances in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. He also investigates mechanisms of quality of life, cognitive remediation therapies, and delusion formation.
Research Interests: His work spans clinical neuroscience and psychology, addressing topics such as formal thought disorder, relapse prediction in psychiatric disorders, and the impact of the pandemic on mental health. He employs neuroimaging, computational linguistics, and clinical trials to explore these areas.
Awards & Grants: He has secured grants from the Barbara Dicker Brain Science Foundation and National Health and Medical Research Council, focusing on speech analysis in depression and relapse prediction. Awards include the Swinburne Research Conference ECR Presentation Award and the Peter Doherty Australian Biomedical Fellowship.
