Eric Poulin is an Associate Professor at Simmons University's School of Library and Information Science (SLIS), serving as Director of SLIS West. He coordinates the part-time Master of Science in Library and Information Science program at Greenfield Community College since 2024, following prior roles at Greenfield Community College as coordinator of library services.
Poulin earned a BA in Communication Studies from the University of Massachusetts and an MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Rhode Island. His research focuses on information literacy instruction, rural library advocacy, and cultural studies examining baseball's role in American society and neighborhood barroom history.
He actively contributes to library governance as Expertise Director of the Massachusetts Library System and member of the State Advisory Council on Libraries. Additionally, Poulin combines academic inquiry with practical engagement through presentations and publications on library pedagogy and cultural topics.
Personal interests include music composition, English football, tennis, and Boston Red Sox fandom.
