Donia Conn is an Associate Professor of Practice at the School of Library and Information Science at Simmons University, where she has taught since 2010. With over three decades of experience in preservation and conservation (since 1992), she specializes in collections care for cultural heritage institutions. Her extensive professional engagements include leadership roles with the American Library Association, standards development for ISO 11799, and grant review panels for major organizations like NEH and IMLS.
Education:
• BA in Mathematics from St. Olaf College
• MLIS with Advanced Certificate in Conservation from University of Texas-Austin
Research Focus: Conn's work spans the full spectrum of collections preservation, emphasizing practical methodologies for cultural heritage conservation, disaster preparedness, and sustainable collection management strategies for diverse institutional settings.
