Edward Benoit III is the Interim Director and Associate Professor in Louisiana State University's School of Information Studies. He coordinates archival studies and cultural heritage programs, focusing on participatory archives, climate change impacts on GLAM institutions, and military records preservation. His Virtual Footlocker Project explores soldier archiving practices, while PROTECCT-GLAM addresses climate risks for cultural institutions.
Education: PhD (2014), MLIS (2009), MA History (2009), and BA (2006) from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Research Interests
Dr. Benoit specializes in community archives, non-traditional materials, and archival education innovation. He advocates for participatory methodologies and applies climate resilience strategies to cultural heritage preservation. His work bridges academic research with practical solutions for GLAM institutions facing environmental threats.
