Sarah Norris is an Assistant Professor of Practice in Library and Archives Conservation and Preservation at the University of Texas School of Information. She specializes in teaching conservation techniques, preservation science, and cultural heritage informatics. Her work includes managing environmental monitoring, exhibit preparation, and disaster planning initiatives. Norris previously established the conservation lab at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, focusing on book and paper restoration.
Education: Graduate of the University of Texas Kilgarlin Center.
Research interests encompass preservation methodologies, difficult historical materials preservation, and the intersection of technology with cultural heritage conservation. She actively contributes to professional organizations like the American Institute for Conservation (AIC), serving on multiple committees including the Book and Paper Group and the Electronic Media Group.
