Maya Bergamasco is the Faculty Research & Scholarly Support Librarian at the Harvard Law School Library, where she supports interdisciplinary research in areas like health law and criminal law. She holds a Master of Science from Simmons School of Library and Information Science (2019). Her research focuses on diversity initiatives in libraries, particularly the impact of diversity residencies on the LIS profession, culminating in a published open-access toolkit to improve resident retention. She actively mentors and organizes initiatives such as the faculty book talk series and a BIPOC group across Harvard Libraries. Her work emphasizes accessibility, inclusivity, and improving information organization systems to better serve diverse users.
Education: MSLIS from Simmons SLIS (2019). Courses included Information Services for Diverse Users and Information Organization, under mentors like Prof. Candy Schwartz and Prof. Rebecca Davis. Her career path was shaped by mentorship programs and the ACRL Diversity Residency at Harvard Law School Library.
