Eric Morris serves as Senior Instructor and Production Manager (Dance) at the University of South Carolina's Department of Theatre and Dance, within the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences. His roles include teaching, production design, and overseeing the Betsy Blackmon Dance Program.
His design and production expertise spans theatre, ballet, opera, and contemporary dance, with collaborations at institutions like Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, and Chicago Opera Theatre. He has restaged lighting for renowned choreographers including Twyla Tharp and Bill T. Jones.
His written work includes publications in Marked by the Water, Sheltered, and Fall Lines Literary Magazine, alongside his novel Jacob Jump (2020, USC Press). Awards include the TCG/NEA Designer Fellowship and Broad River Prize for Prose.
Consulting and educational outreach extend to schools and arts organizations like Fayette County Schools and The Thoroughbred Center.
