Dr. Emmanuel Laryea is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Monash University, specializing in International Economic Law with a focus on African development contexts. As a member of the Monash Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies, his work intersects legal frameworks with economic growth in developing countries.
- Education: LLB (University of Ghana), LLM (University of Glasgow), PhD (Bond University)
Research interests span International Investment Law, International Trade Law, and Governance in Developing Countries. His teaching includes Contract Law, International Banking, and Investment Law units at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Recent publications analyze trade facilitation and arbitration mechanisms under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and pandemic-era investment obligations. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 8 (Decent Work) and 17 (Partnerships).
Professional engagements include consultancy for AUSAID's ASEAN E-Commerce Project and membership in UNCITRAL's Expert Panel on Electronic Transferable Records.
