Dr. Emma Towers is a Lecturer in Education Policy and Teaching Fellow at the School of Education, Communication & Society. Her research focuses on teachers' career trajectories, urban education policy, teacher identity, and student learning experiences in universities. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education.
Her research interests intersect with teacher training, multicultural education, and policy analysis. Recent work examines teacher effectiveness redefinitions and pandemic impacts on pre-service teachers' identity development.
Collaborations include international school reforms and secondary education systems analysis. She has published 31 research outputs since 2023, including peer-reviewed articles and textbook contributions.
