Dr. Alex Manning is a Lecturer in Science Education at King's College London, affiliated with the School of Education, Communication & Society and the Centre for Research in Education in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (CRESTEM). She holds a PhD from King's College London (2017), focusing on urban science teachers' career decisions. Her research emphasizes teacher wellbeing, retention, department dynamics, and initial teacher education. She contributes to PGCE, MA, and PhD programs, supervising students like Anthea Ameer and Ye (Catherine) Cao.
Her work explores pandemic impacts on teacher identity and wellbeing policy critiques. Key projects include analyzing post-pandemic teacher quality challenges and developing values-based wellbeing frameworks.
